Fujairah hosts three major international tennis tournaments

Fujairah, January 19 / WAM / The Emirates Tennis and Padel Federation and the Fujairah Tennis Club announced the organization of three major international tennis tournaments with prizes amounting to $200,000, sponsored and supported by the Fujairah government and in cooperation with the International Tennis Federation and the Professional Association.

This came in a press conference organized by the club at its headquarters on Sunday evening, in the presence of the Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors, His Excellency Abdul Ghafoor Bahrozyan, a member of the Board of Directors of the Tennis and Padel Federation, His Excellency Omar Sharif Al Marzouqi, the club’s director, Hania Riki, the general referee, Lucie Adamowska, and the general referee of the Association of Tennis Professionals, Jiri Adamowski.

The women’s tournament will be held from January 26 to 31, with prizes amounting to $100,000, with the participation of an elite group of the world’s best tennis players from international rankings.

While the second tournament will be held next March 2, and the third tournament will be held on March 9, with a value of $50,000 each.

Abdul Ghafour Bahrozyan described the holding of tournaments with advanced international classifications as representing a qualitative leap for the Fujairah Tennis Club, stressing the necessity of sustaining cooperation with the Emirates Tennis Federation, which will lead to future successes. He pointed out that every tournament held in Fujairah is a distinctive development, community and competitive project in addition to supporting UAE national and resident players to practice tennis and an opportunity to support the national teams, pointing to a strategic plan aimed at achieving more gains, valuing the confidence of the Emirates Tennis Federation. And the exchange and the confidence of the International Tennis Federation.

Omar Sharif Al Marzouqi said: The success of the Fujairah Tennis Club in hosting and attracting such international tournaments reflects a sign of its success at the local and international levels, noting that the Federation’s Board of Directors, headed by Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, is keen to support the success of the tournaments organized in the country at all levels, and the Fujairah Tennis Club is a great motivation for the continued success of the Emirati tennis family by spreading the culture of tennis in the Emirates and working to develop the game and keep pace with international standards in most of the emirates of the country.

Hania Riki confirmed that the club will be fully prepared to receive the world champions participating in the tournaments in all aspects, and to ensure all means of technical and organizational parity for the tournament in cooperation with the Emirates Tennis and Padel Federation. On behalf of the club and the sponsors, she welcomed the guests of the tournament and confirmed that they will find everything ready to the highest degree.
