Sharjah.. The International Publishers Conference discusses industry developments and opportunities for cooperation

Sharjah, 14 October / WAM / The International Publishers Conference will launch its 15th session during the period from 2 to 4 next November as a platform for rethinking the future of writing and the publishing industry in the region and the world, as it puts on the table for discussion the major transformations taking place in global markets and the challenges they pose that go beyond the limits of traditional book distribution to building new models of marketing, rights and production.

The conference, organized by the Sharjah Book Authority at the Expo Center Sharjah, reviews practical solutions and qualitative experiences from leading institutions and publishing houses to expand the presence and spread of Arab and foreign content and invest in digital technologies and new media, including electronic publishing and audio books.

The conference, which will be held prior to the start of the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair, hosts an elite group of publishers, experts and cultural decision-makers from various countries of the world to emphasize Sharjah’s role as a center for global publishing markets and knowledge production.

The conference program includes more than 32 professional workshops aimed at enhancing communication and interaction among participants in order to benefit publishers and literary agents and unify their efforts to serve and advance the publishing sector and ensure the benefit of specialized experiences and expertise. The conference is keen to coordinate meetings and encounters with those with success stories and experiences to enable them to contribute to the advancement of the publishing industry and discuss mechanisms that ensure the expansion of their business. And the sustainability of its success.
