The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator calls for accelerating the implementation of the Sharm El-Sheikh Agreements

UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Tom Fletcher, called for accelerating the implementation of the Sharm El-Sheikh and ensuring the flow of aid to Gaza, noting that this stage represents a moment of great hope.
He explained in a statement that the humanitarian response in Gaza was launched again this week after months of siege, and that food and medical aid, fuel, cooking gas and tents reached thousands of people in need, and progress was made in reopening roads and bakeries and reuniting families.
Increasing the volume of aid
Fletcher warned of setbacks that threaten the continuation of the progress achieved, calling for ensuring that The peace path, which is supported by the United Nations and a number of international leaders.
The UN coordinator demanded allowing a massive flow of aid and thousands of trucks weekly and opening more crossings, indicating that facilitating the arrival of aid is a legal obligation and not a negotiating card.
He explained that the United Nations has developed a plan for the first sixty days to increase the volume of aid. Life-saving aid, confirming that he will remain in the region this week to coordinate its implementation.
