Khaleeji Bank participates in “Tree Week” and sponsors the planting of a main street in the Seef District

As part of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebration of “Tree Week” activities, Khaleeji Bank, one of the leading Islamic banks in the Kingdom of Bahrain, launched today, Thursday, its participation in this national initiative by planting a number of trees in one of the main streets in the Seef District, in cooperation with the Capital Governorate and the Capital Secretariat, and in the presence of Sheikh Khalid bin Hamoud Al Khalifa, Governor of the Capital Governorate, Engineer Mohammed Saad Al-Sahli, Director General of the Capital Secretariat, and Sattam Sulaiman Al-Gosaibi, CEO of Khaleeji. Bank, and a number of senior officials and managers from the Capital Governorate, the Capital Municipality, and members of the bank’s executive management.
Khaleeji Bank’s participation comes within the national initiatives supporting the goals of environmental sustainability, as the bank undertook to plant the entire main street in the Seef District using modern and innovative irrigation systems that keep pace with the trends of the Kingdom of Bahrain towards adopting smart solutions in water resource management, and in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, during the inauguration of this year’s Tree Week activities, which included announcing a competition. Innovation in irrigation solutions aimed at encouraging creative ideas that contribute to benefiting from surplus treated water and enhancing the efficiency of its use in agriculture and afforestation.
During the event, the Governor of the Capital and the General Director of the Municipality of the Capital, along with the CEO of Khaleeji Bank, planted a number of trees to mark the start of afforestation work in the region.
On this occasion, Sattam Sulaiman Al Gosaibi, CEO of Khaleeji Bank, expressed the bank’s pride in participating in this national initiative, which confirms its firm commitment to its national and social responsibility towards the environment and Bahraini society, noting that Tree Week represents a national station for promoting environmental awareness and consolidating a culture of sustainability in society.
He also pointed out that Khaleeji Bank’s initiative to plant a main street in Seef District using modern irrigation systems stems from the bank’s deep belief in the importance of supporting national efforts to enhance green spaces and use innovative techniques in landscaping, stressing that this step reflects the bank’s keenness to be an active partner in building a sustainable green future for future generations.
The CEO added that the bank’s participation in Tree Week embodies its commitment to corporate value directed towards community service and support of environmental sustainability, noting that this initiative reflects a distinguished model of effective partnership between the public and private sectors.
