Latifa bint Mohammed meets with Emirati members of the Global Future Councils

DUBAI, 16 October / WAM / Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairwoman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, met with the Emirati members of the Global Future Councils, who represent an elite group of national talents, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as part of the work of the Global Future Councils and Cybersecurity 2025, which was organized by the UAE government in cooperation with the World Economic Forum during the period from 14 to 16 October.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Co-Chair of the Global Future Councils and Member of the World Economic Forum Leadership Council, Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, CEO of the UAE Independent Accelerators for Climate Change, Her Excellency Ohoud bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, the Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, and Her Excellency Maryam bint Ahmed Al Hammadi, Minister of State and Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers.
The Global Future Councils, which include more than 700 experts and specialists from 93 countries, representing elite leaders, decision-makers, academics, entrepreneurs, government officials and representatives of international organizations, will witness the participation of 38 members of national talent in the 2025-2026 session, including 26 new members of prominent talent and Emirati cadres of decision-makers, experts, talents and specialists, and 12 members. Their membership continued from the previous session. They contributed to consolidating the UAE’s leadership in leading efforts to anticipate the future and promote innovation to anticipate global transformations and formulate paths of development and sustainable prosperity. They contributed to shaping the future of vital sectors globally.
The list of new members includes an elite group of prominent Emirati officials and experts, as His Excellency Salama Al Awadhi, Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, joined the Global Future Council for Advanced Manufacturing and Value Chains. In the field of health, His Excellency Dr. Amer Ahmed Sharif, CEO of the Dubai Academic Health Foundation and President of the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, joined the Future Council for Microbial Control. Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Mahmoud, Director of the Department of the Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, also joined the Future of General Artificial Intelligence Council.
At the economic level, Saeed Mohammed Al Gergawi, Vice President of the Digital Economy Sector at Dubai Chambers, joined the Council for the Future of Economic Growth, while Abdullah Al Rumaithi, Director of the Department of Environmental Policies, Legislation and Climate Change at the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, joined the Council for the Future of Clean Air. In finance, Dr. Marwan Al Zarouni, Executive Director of Artificial Intelligence at the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, joined the Future of Decentralized Finance Council.
In the field of energy, Saif Ghobash Al Marri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Petroleum, Gas and Mineral Resources Sector at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, joined the Energy Interconnection Future Council, and His Excellency Dr. Moza Suwaidan, Executive Director of the Digital Applications and Platforms Sector at the Dubai Digital Government Corporation, joined the Energy Technology Future Council, and in the Entertainment and Quality of Life Economy, His Excellency Khalifa Bin Brik, CEO of Asset Management at Majid Al Futtaim, and Her Excellency Sheikha Nasser Al Nowais, Secretary-General of the United Nations Tourism Organization, to the Council on the Future of the Leisure Economy and Quality of Life.
Regarding the just transition, Iman Astadi, Vice-Chair of the Emirates Negotiating Team for COP28, joined the Future of Just Transition Council, and in the field of financial culture, His Excellency Walid Saeed Al-Awadi, CEO of the Securities and Commodities Authority, joined the Future of Financial Culture Council, and His Excellency Mohammed bin Taliah, Head of Government Services in the UAE Government, joined the Future of Government Technology and Public Digital Infrastructure Council.
In human capital development, His Excellency Ahmed Al Shamsi, CEO of the Emirates Foundation, joined the Future Council for Human Capital Development, while His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Secretary General of the Emirates Media Council, joined the Future of Information Safety Council, and Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the Cybersecurity Council in the UAE Government, joined the Cybersecurity Future Council.
Mohammed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, joined the Future Council on Innovative Nature and Climate Finance, and Shaima Gargash, Director of the Energy and Sustainability Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, joined the Natural Capital Future Council. In international trade and investment, His Excellency Mohammed Al-Hawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Investment, joined the Future Council for International Trade and Investment, while Mohammed Al-Sharhan, Director of the World Government Summit Foundation, joined the Future Leadership Council.
In neurotechnology, Dr. Mohammed Al Olama, consultant neurosurgeon at Rashid Hospital, joined the Neurotechnology Future Council, while Khalifa Al Qama, Director of Dubai Future Laboratories, joined the Computer Future Council. In the field of soil, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Salman Al Hammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Food Diversity Sector in the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, joined the Soil Future Council. His Excellency Younis Al Nasser, CEO of the Dubai Data and Statistics Corporation, also joined the Advanced Data Future Council, while His Excellency Sultan Mohammed Saeed Al Shamsi, Vice President of the Emirates International Aid Agency, participates in the Reimagining Aid Future Council, and Her Excellency Dr. Sheikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, participates in the Humanities Future Council.

Dr. Hoda Al-Khuzaimi, Director of the Cybersecurity Center at New York University Abu Dhabi, and Dr. Bushra Al-Balushi, Deputy Director of the Information Services Department at the Dubai Cybersecurity Center, continue their membership in the Cybersecurity Future Council.
The active participation of Emirati cadres in global future councils embodies the UAE’s vision of consolidating its contribution to international efforts to shape the future, and reflects its leadership as a global center for dialogue aimed at anticipating challenges and charting future paths.
