Partial opening of Al Hamidiya Bridge on Sheikh Zayed Road in Ajman

As part of the initiatives of the President of the State, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, today, Saturday, partially opened the Al Hamidiya Bridge project on Sheikh Zayed Road in Ajman to traffic, in the presence of Engineer Mohammed Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Ministry, Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, and a number of officials from the Ministry and the Department.

The project comes within an integrated plan for sustainable improvement, and within the framework of continuing efforts to develop infrastructure and raise the efficiency of the road network in the Emirate of Ajman, in a way that supports comprehensive development goals, enhances the quality of life in the emirate, and keeps pace with urban growth and increasing traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road.

The work of the 1,100-metre-long bridge has been completed, and it includes 4 lanes in each direction with overhead lighting work, while work continues on the lower intersections, sidewalk works, parking lots, and rainwater drainage, in addition to the road linking from Sheikh Zayed Road, all the way to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, and the bridge connecting to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, and all works are expected to be completed by the end of this year.

The project will contribute to alleviating traffic congestion on Sheikh Zayed Road, increasing its flow, and reducing travel times by 60%, facilitating access to the residential and service areas associated with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, the Al Hamidiyah area, and Al Rashidiya, as well as vital facilities such as Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Hospital, which is continuing to be implemented, and the Zayed Educational Complex in Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed City.
