Cairo intensifies its contacts with Washington, Tehran, and the International Agency to resume nuclear negotiations

Egypt has conducted extensive contacts with the United States, Iran, and the International Atomic Energy Agency, as part of efforts to support calm and reduce escalation, and to build on the momentum that followed the signing of the Cairo Agreement between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency on September 9, thus preparing the atmosphere for the resumption of nuclear negotiations between Tehran and Washington, according to a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement announcing the end of the nuclear agreement and UN Resolution 2231 on this day, October 18, 2025. They called for the Iranian file to be removed from the agenda of the UN Security Council due to the expiration of the resolution.
