The Ryder Cup champion participates in the second edition of the Dubai Invitational golf tournament

Dubai, October 21 / WAM / Ryder Cup champion Rory McIlroy announced his return to participate in the Dubai Invitational Golf Championship, scheduled to be held from January 15 to 18 next year.
The five-time major champion will participate in the second edition of the tournament after a historic season in 2025, which saw him play a major role in Europe’s victory in the Ryder Cup at the Bethpage Black Stadium, which is the first victory for a European team on American soil in 13 years.
McIlroy also became the first European to complete his career by winning all Grand Slam tournaments, when he added the 2025 Masters Championship title to his previous major title victories in the 2011 US Open, the PGA Championship in 2012 and 2014, and the British Open in 2014.
McIlroy finished runner-up in the Dubai Invitational golf tournament two years ago, one stroke behind the eventual champion, his Ryder Cup teammate Tommy Fleetwood, who has already confirmed his participation in the 2026 edition.
The world number two is currently at the forefront of the 2025 “Race to Dubai” season, and is looking forward to starting 2026 by playing two consecutive weeks in the UAE by participating in the Dubai Invitational Golf Championship, and the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, which is the first tournament of the Rolex Series, and the event in which McIlroy was crowned on 4 occasions.
