“50 years of creativity”.. “Cinema El Gouna” raises the curtain on a special celebration of Yousra’s artistic career

The El Gouna International Film Festival, in its eighth session currently being held in the coastal city of El Gouna on the Red Sea coast, celebrated the Egyptian star Yousra, as one of the icons of Egyptian art.
The celebration came through a special exhibition, celebrating her diverse works between cinema, drama, and theatre, as well as a tribute symposium attended by stars of Egyptian art, who follow the festival’s activities. The celebration and exhibition were titled: “50 Years of Yousra.”
The exhibition, which was opened on the second day of the festival, collects posters for Yousra’s films and pictures of her from her most prominent artistic milestones, which established her name as one of the icons of Egyptian and Arab art. It documents the most important moments in the career of the big star, and her distinguished roles in cinema, television and theater.
It also reviews the Egyptian star’s most prominent artistic and humanitarian milestones, through a visual vision that combines nostalgia and celebration of art, through rare photos, archival materials, and works that immortalize her luminous career in cinema and television. The “festival” aims to honor an artist who has maintained her presence in the conscience of the Arab public, and is one of the symbols of sophisticated and purposeful art.

At the symposium, which was held by the El Gouna Festival, yesterday evening, Monday, in celebration of Yusra, the Egyptian star confirmed that she felt real astonishment when she saw the exhibition, which was executed with love and mastery, as she put it, indicating that she recalled every moment of her artistic career, and every image that brought her back to an important station in her life, which touched her heart deeply, sincerely, and lovingly.
In the honorary symposium, Yousra revealed milestones that shaped her artistic and humanitarian personality, and experiences that shaped the features of her career full of successes and challenges, indicating that she faced many difficulties at the beginning of her career, especially after the showing of her first films was delayed for years, and that she learned the profession at the hands of senior professors, and learned that the scene in cinema, television, and theater is built by feeling and not by form.

Yousra stressed that talent alone is not enough, as learning, patience, intelligence, and good choices are necessary, and the size of the role is not a condition. What is important is the extent of its depth and impact on the artistic work and the audience, citing her few scenes in the movie “His Excellency the Minister” with the late star Ahmed Zaki, saying: “It is possible that a very small scene will change your history, like my scene with Ahmed Zaki in the movie (His Excellency the Minister), it was a scene.” Crucially, if he had not been there, the whole film would not have been completed.”
Yousra agreed with the famous saying: “Continuing at the top is more difficult than reaching it,” and that success does not come by chance or a stroke of luck as much as it is hard work, constant striving, patience, and careful choices.

In another context, Yousra explained that she learned to separate her personal and artistic life, noting that the many experiences she went through taught her how to maintain her image in front of the public, especially in light of the spread of social networking sites, which may take speech out of its context, so the audience interprets it in a way different from what was intended.
