World Food Week/Convention to support innovation in sustainable nutrition

ABU DHABI, 21st October / WAM / Al Ain Farms Group and Khalifa University Projects Company announced today the signing of a strategic memorandum of understanding within the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition, which is held within the activities of World Food Week in Abu Dhabi.

The bilateral agreement enhances research, development, innovation and sustainable practices in the food sector in the UAE, supports the country’s leadership in food security and the growth of science-based industries, and also empowers talent by making facilities and practical experiences available to students and providing new paths to expand the scope of promising research ideas.

Al Ain Farms Group includes under its umbrella five trusted food brands in the country; They are Al Ain Farms, Marmum Dairy Farm, Al Ajban Poultry, Al Jazeera Poultry Farm (Golden Eggs), and Arab Seha Farms, and they play a pioneering role in providing high-quality local food.

Her Excellency Amal Nasser Al Jabri, CEO of Khalifa University Projects Company, said that the partnership with Al Ain Farms Group reflects the company’s commitment to transforming Khalifa University’s research into practical solutions and impactful, tangible products through greater cooperation with industry.

She added that Khalifa University Projects Company is establishing a new model of partnership between the university and the business sector, which will accelerate the commercialization of innovations, support the UAE’s priorities at the level of food security, and enable students and researchers at the university to provide sustainable, market-ready solutions that support the knowledge economy in the country.

For his part, Hassan Safi, CEO of Al Ain Farms Group, said that combining Khalifa University’s global research expertise and the group’s operational capabilities will contribute to finding qualitative solutions that support the shared vision of both sides in developing a sustainable, safe and innovation-based food system.

He added that one of the most important pillars of this partnership is cooperation in camel milk research, which is considered a heritage in the UAE and is known for its richness in protein and its exceptional health benefits. The two sides aim to launch advanced research in this vital field and others, in addition to enhancing food flexibility, reducing the waste of food waste, and consolidating Emirati excellence in this sector globally.

Cooperation between the two sides contributes to bringing about a shift in innovation in the field of food at the regional level through three basic axes, including achieving a qualitative shift in the marketing of camel milk, developing sustainable poultry feed, in addition to talent, science, and practical solutions.
