The Greek Coast Guard rescues 42 migrants near Gavdos Island

The Greek Coast Guard announced today, Tuesday, the rescue of 42 migrants who were on board a boat 15 nautical miles from the island of Gavdos in southern Greece.
The Coast Guard added, according to what the Greek newspaper (Kathimerini) reported, that a ship belonging to the “Frontex” agency… The European Union and two passing ships helped transport the migrants safely to the port of Gavdos.
The migrants are scheduled to receive the necessary care and support from the competent authorities, according to the newspaper.
