More than 13 million dinars worth of shares traded on the Bahrain Stock Exchange within a week

The amount of shares traded on the Bahrain Stock Exchange during this week amounted to 61 million 221 thousand and 938 shares with a total value of 13 million 961 thousand and 270 Bahraini dinars, executed by brokers for the benefit of investors through 759 transactions.

During this week, investors traded shares of 28 companies. The share prices of 8 companies rose, while the share prices of 10 companies fell, and the rest of the companies maintained their previous closing prices.

The financial sector occupied first place in this week’s transactions, as the value of its traded shares amounted to 11 million, 818 thousand and 167 Bahraini dinars, or 84.65% of the total value of traded shares, with an amount of 57 million, 428 thousand and 768 shares, which were executed through 472 transactions.

The second place went to the basic materials sector, where the value of its traded shares amounted to 1,301,995 Bahraini dinars, representing 9.33% of the total value of shares traded on the stock exchange, with an amount of 1,343,803 shares, which were executed through 136 transactions.

At the corporate level, GFH Financial Group came in first place in terms of value, as the value of its shares amounted to 9 million 254 thousand and 746 Bahraini dinars, representing 66.29% of the value of traded shares, with an amount of 46 million 99 thousand and 310 shares, which were executed through 317 transactions.

Aluminum Bahrain (Alba) came in second place, with a value of 1,301,995 Bahraini dinars, or 9.33% of the value of traded shares, with a quantity of 1,343,803 shares, which were executed through 136 transactions.

Returning to the trading rates during this week over 5 working days, we find that the daily average value of traded shares amounted to two million, 792 thousand and 254 Bahraini dinars, while the daily average amount of shares traded was 12 million, 244 thousand and 388 shares, and the average number of transactions during this week amounted to 152 transactions.
