The UAE condemns the Israeli Knesset’s approval of two draft laws to impose sovereignty over the occupied West Bank

The UAE strongly condemned the Israeli Knesset’s approval, in preliminary reading, of two draft laws aimed at imposing Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank and legitimizing control over one of the settlements, stressing that this step represents a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of international legitimacy resolutions, and an undermining of efforts aimed at achieving just and comprehensive peace in the region.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the UAE’s categorical rejection of all unilateral practices aimed at changing the legal and historical situation in the occupied Palestinian territory, warning that any move to annex the West Bank is categorically rejected, as it represents undermining the foundations of the two-state solution.

The Ministry stressed the need to support regional and international efforts to revive the peace process and put an end to illegal practices, affirming the UAE’s commitment to promoting peace, justice and protecting the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and calling on the international community to assume its legal and political responsibilities and take the necessary measures to ensure security and stability for all the peoples of the region.
