Cooperation between Dubai Municipality and the IOSH Institute to develop training programs to empower national cadres

Dubai Municipality signed a strategic memorandum of cooperation with the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (IOSH), based in the United Kingdom, with the aim of strengthening and developing the occupational health, safety and well-being system, and providing an integrated and sustainable work environment that ensures quality of life and productivity in accordance with the best international standards and practices.
The memorandum is based on pivotal areas of cooperation, most notably the development of specialized training programs to empower national cadres, and conducting joint research to keep pace with emerging occupational risks, in addition to employing modern technologies and artificial intelligence to support proactive protection, and raising the efficiency of prevention and safety by organizing workshops and conferences for inspectors and specialists.
Acting Executive Director of the Environment, Health and Safety Foundation in Dubai Municipality, Dr. Naseem Mohammed Rafie, confirmed that this cooperation represents a qualitative leap in the municipality’s approach to providing a safe and stimulating work environment that achieves the well-being of individuals and their quality of life, noting the municipality’s keenness to build partnerships with leading international expertise. Dubai’s leadership ensures a reliable global center in adopting innovative solutions for occupational safety.
Executive Director and Team Leader at the Institute for Health and Safety (IOSH), Vanessa Harwood-Witcher, expressed her pride in the partnership, which reflects a shared commitment to creating safer, healthier and more flexible workplaces through proactive risk management, pointing out that combining the Institute’s global experience with the aspirations of Dubai Municipality provides a valuable opportunity to enhance professional capabilities and drive innovation to build systems ready to meet the challenges of the future.
