The acting was a coincidence and not a pre-planned one

Abdel Hamid stated that she was a “very shy” girl and had never thought about acting. She did not even participate in school theatre. However, an announcement in one of the newspapers about the acceptance of an exceptional group of girls at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts was a spark that ignited a sudden desire within her.
The distinguished artist narrated that she went to her father and told him of her desire to apply to the institute. He was surprised by the matter, but he agreed, believing that she would not be accepted. She described her funny situation at the institute’s gate, saying: “I was feeling depressed and did not know what to do.” There, she met Dr. Fawzi Fahmy (later the president of the academy), who asked her about the scenes she had prepared for the test, and she answered innocently: “What do you mean, what did you prepare for?”, which sparked his laughter and admiration for her boldness.
She added that Dr. Fahmy directed her to teaching assistant Najat Ali, who gave her a scene and asked her to “crack” it (analyze and save it) for the next day. “I didn’t just break it, I preserved it completely,” Abdel Hamid said.
The biggest surprise was when she was accepted into the institute and ranked first in her class, which included about 600 girls, without any prior preparation or previous experience. She concluded her speech by stressing that her artistic career was “very fateful,” as chance led her to discover her talent and choose a path she had never dreamed of. (seventh day)
