The Louvre transfers its valuable treasures to the Bank of France after the robbery

French radio station RTL reported that the Louvre Museum had transferred a number of its most valuable jewels to the Bank of France, following a daylight theft last week.

The radio quoted informed sources as saying that the transfer included some precious pieces from the Apollo exhibition in the museum, which includes jewels dating back to the royal era, and took place yesterday, Friday, amid exceptional security measures and accompanied by a special unit of the French police.

A group of thieves broke into the Louvre Museum in Paris through one of the windows and managed to steal pieces of jewelry before escaping on motorcycles.
