With 63% of the votes… Catherine Connolly wins the Irish presidential election

Candidate Katherine Connolly won Presidential which took place on Friday, after she won more than 63% of the votes, according to official results issued yesterday.
Connolly’s victory came by a large margin over her competitor Heather Humphreys, who received 29.5% of the votes.
Connolly will thus assume the presidency, succeeding Michael Higgins, who has held the position for two consecutive terms since 2011. M.
