"UAE-Singapore Business Council": 800 Singaporean companies in the Emirates… and Abu Dhabi is a global center for innovation

SINGAPORE, 27 October / WAM / Dr. Brian Shigar, Honorary Chairman and Senior Advisor to the UAE-Singapore Business Council, confirmed that the economic relations between the UAE and the Republic of Singapore are witnessing continuous growth in various sectors, embodied in the presence of between 600 to 800 Singaporean companies currently operating in the UAE.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the launch of the Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit in Singapore, Shigar explained that these companies are active in various parts of the Emirates within vital sectors that include engineering, infrastructure, energy, real estate, and consulting services. He mentioned that the most prominent of these companies are Sapana Gurung, Meinhardt, Capital Land, and D. B.A.”
He stressed that the “Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit in Singapore” formed a prominent platform to review the investment opportunities available in major development and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi, and said that the summit effectively contributed to highlighting the emirate’s position as a global center for innovation, sustainable development, and smart cities.
Regarding the role of the Council, Shigar indicated that it includes about 135 members representing institutions and companies from various economic sectors. He said that the Council is working diligently to enhance communication between the business community in the two countries and expand the horizons of trade and investment cooperation.
He stressed the Council’s keenness to support strategic partnerships and encourage more Emirati and Singaporean companies to explore joint growth opportunities, noting that the Council continues its efforts to facilitate trade and investment exchange and enhance the institutional presence of companies in both countries, which contributes to consolidating Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading center for investment and sustainable infrastructure in the region.
