The UAE participates in meetings "Industrial Cooperation Committee" and "Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs" In cooperation countries

KUWAIT, 30 October / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, headed the United Arab Emirates delegation participating in the 55th session of the meetings of the Industrial Cooperation Committee, and the tenth meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs, which was hosted by the State of Kuwait, with the participation of the Ministers of Industry and Trade in the GCC countries, with the aim of supporting joint efforts to achieve sustainable economic integration, and enhancing cooperation in the fields of Gulf industry, specifications and standards in a way that supports economic and industrial development, and facilitates the movement of goods between the markets of the GCC countries.

Al-Jaber conveyed to the Gulf brothers the greetings of the leadership and government of the UAE and its keenness to strengthen joint strategic relations, especially in the field of investment and to enhance the flexibility of supply chains in vital sectors, thanking the State of Kuwait, the leadership, government and people, for hosting these important meetings that support cooperation and partnership efforts.

On this occasion, His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber said: “In the UAE, and in line with the vision of the wise leadership, we continue to work to strengthen qualitative partnerships and integrate the private sector in a way that supports industrial competitiveness and sustainable economic growth for future generations. This cooperation contributes to building an advanced and competitive industrial base, in a way that supports joint Gulf action.”

During the visit, the Emirati delegation participated in the Fourth Gulf Entrepreneurship Forum, to discuss challenges and opportunities related to the expansion of small projects in the Gulf market, in addition to workshops on business growth and artificial intelligence. The “Gulf Industrial Platform” was also launched as a unified digital platform concerned with Gulf industrial projects. As part of the UAE’s participation in the “Third Gulf Industrial Exhibition”, the country displayed five pioneering national industrial experiments, which reviewed the experiences of Emirates Global Aluminum companies, which are among the largest producers of high-quality aluminum in the world and use Emirati smelting technologies that reduce emissions and enhance the country’s position as a global industrial engine. Dairy manufacturing company Nutridor also showcased its efforts as one of the most advanced dairy factories in the region, which relies on automation and solar energy and reduces more than 8,000 tons of emissions annually. Lootah Biofuels Company, which is the first Gulf factory to convert used cooking oils into biofuel for aircraft, promotes the circular economy and supports the goals of climate neutrality, and Al-Mustaqbal Pipe Manufacturing Company, which is one of the pioneers in producing corrosion-resistant pipes and provides innovative solutions for infrastructure and clean energy around the world, were also presented. Desert Board also presented its pioneering projects as the first global factory to convert palm frond waste into environmentally friendly wooden boards, which reflects the UAE’s leadership in circular industries and the shift towards sustainable building materials. Three Emirati companies won the Gulf Industrial Excellence Award: Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA), Lootah Biofuels Company, and Desert Board Company. The victory reflects the leadership of the UAE industry and its prominent position in supporting Gulf industrial development, and confirming its role in building an integrated industrial system that contributes to promoting a sustainable economy and regional integration.

In addition to His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE delegation included His Excellency Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, His Excellency Osama Amir Fadl, Assistant Undersecretary for the Industrial Accelerators Sector, and a number of officials in the ministry.
