Flydubai transports 137 million passengers in 17 years

Flydubai said that it has transported more than 137 million passengers during the 17 years since the start of its operations in June 2009, noting that, from its headquarters in Dubai, it has established a network that includes more than 140 destinations served by a fleet of 97 aircraft.
The company added that it is committed to removing barriers to travel, facilitating the flow of trade and tourism and enhancing communication between different cultures through its constantly growing network, noting that it has been able to build an expanded network, which includes more than 140 destinations in 58 countries across Africa, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Central and Southeastern Europe, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, the Middle East, South Asia and Southeast Asia.
The carrier stated that it contributed to opening up unserved markets, with the opening of more than 100 new destinations that did not previously have direct flights with Dubai or were not served by a national Emirati airline from Dubai.
Flydubai indicated that it operates a unified fleet of 97 Boeing 737 aircraft, which includes: 26 Boeing 737-800 new generation aircraft, 68 Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 03 Boeing 737 MAX 9.
Flydubai achieved another strong financial performance in its financial year ending December 31, 2025, recording pre-tax profits of 2.2 billion dirhams, and total revenues reaching 13.6 billion dirhams, a growth of 6% compared to 12.8 billion dirhams, in 2024.
The carrier’s net profit after tax amounted to 1.9 billion dirhams, driven by the strategic expansion of the destination network, continued investment in innovation, improving the customer experience and its firm commitment to serving markets not served by flights.
The company achieved a record number of passengers of 15.7 million passengers in 2025, driven by continued demand for business and leisure trips across its network. Demand for Business Class was particularly strong, rising by 19% compared to 2024. flydubai will take delivery of 12 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft during 2025.
The carrier culminated in 2025 with a strong presence at the Dubai Air Show, where orders for new aircraft were announced, including 150 Airbus A321neo aircraft and 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. This strategic addition contributes to diversifying the company’s fleet of single-aisle aircraft and enhancing its long-term strategy.
The strategic partnership between Emirates Airlines and Flydubai has allowed more than 2.5 million passengers to enjoy smooth connecting flights across a joint network of 243 destinations in 103 countries via the Dubai International Aviation Center in 2025.
As it continued to attract various talents through ongoing recruitment campaigns, the company’s employee numbers grew by 11%, bringing the total number of employees to 6,763 employees by the end of 2025.
During the year 2025, the company signed 11 new agreements to connect airlines, expanding its portfolio to include more than 42 partners, and providing its customers with access to more than 300 destinations through the networks of Flydubai and its partners, in addition to three code-sharing agreements with Air Canada, Emirates, and United Airlines.
