Maktoum bin Mohammed approves the promotion of a number of judges and members of the Public Prosecution and the launch of a forum for best judicial practices

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and Chairman of the Judicial Council in Dubai, chaired the Council meeting, as part of His Highness’s continuous follow-up of the affairs of the judiciary and its members, with the aim of improving the system and enhancing the efficiency of the judicial system in the emirate.

During the meeting, which was held in His Highness’s office, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved the promotion of a number of judges and members of the Public Prosecution, out of His Highness’s keenness to support distinguished judicial competencies and promote a work environment conducive to quality performance.

His Highness also approved the new organizational structure of the Dubai Judicial Institute, and launched a forum for best judicial practices with the aim of exchanging experiences between judicial authorities at the local and international levels, and displaying the most prominent successful practices in the judicial field, in addition to promoting innovation in judicial work.

Integrated judicial system

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said: “We continue to work on developing an integrated judicial system that establishes the rule of law, ensures the independence and integrity of the judiciary, and enhances community confidence in the judicial system, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, to make the judicial system in Dubai an inspiring global reference in establishing the balance of justice and approving a ruling.” Law… supporting distinguished judicial competencies, promoting innovation and employing advanced technologies are the basic pillars of our endeavor towards a pioneering and advanced judiciary that keeps pace with Dubai’s development process and enhances its global competitiveness.”

Strengthening research cooperation

During the meeting, which was attended by His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director of the Court of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, Vice Chairman of the Judicial Council, and members of the Council, the Judicial Council discussed a number of topics on the agenda, especially related to the affairs of members of the judiciary and the requests submitted by them.

The Judicial Council also reviewed the report prepared by the Council’s General Secretariat on the memorandums of understanding that were signed with a group of accredited higher education institutions in the country, aiming to enhance research and scientific cooperation with these institutions, and provide training opportunities for university students in judicial institutions in the Emirate of Dubai.

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed the importance of expanding the scope of academic partnerships to support building a new generation of national competencies qualified for judicial work, and linking academic knowledge with practical application.

Adopting modern technologies

The Judicial Council in Dubai discussed the results of the participation of the judicial authorities in the emirate in the “GITEX Global 2025” exhibition, which came under the Judicial Council platform as a unified participation that includes the Dubai Courts, the Public Prosecution in Dubai, the Rental Dispute Settlement Center in the Emirate of Dubai, the Judicial Inspection Authority, the Courts of the Dubai International Financial Center and the Dubai Judicial Institute, as this participation reflects the integration of the judicial authorities in the Emirate of Dubai.

His Highness, President of the Judicial Council in Dubai, stressed the importance of investing in artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to enhance the efficiency of judicial work, stressing the necessity of adopting modern technologies with the aim of developing customer services and raising the level of public satisfaction and confidence in the judiciary.

The Judicial Council also discussed the objectives of the Public Confidence Index in the Judicial System in the Emirate of Dubai, and approved the new organizational structure of the Dubai Judicial Institute, which was recently updated to keep pace with the ongoing changes and developments in the system for qualifying members of the judiciary, and to enhance its role in preparing national judicial competencies and developing future skills.

It is noteworthy that the Judicial Council in Dubai aims to consolidate the principles of justice, equality and the rule of law, and to contribute to achieving sustainable development in the emirate, by providing a fair, impartial, developed and effective judiciary. It also aims to implement the emirate’s vision and strategic goals related to developing the justice sector, ensuring the independence and development of the judiciary, in addition to consolidating the values, ideals and ethics of judicial work, and ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the judiciary.
