Director Karim El-Shenawy confirmed that the movie “The Best Gentlemen” It is not considered a purely comedy film as some might think, pointing out that the work represents a different experience that mixes comedy, suspense and social drama, in an attempt to present a new type of film within the Egyptian market.
Al-Shenawi said that the work team from the beginning aimed to present an enjoyable and different film, adding: “We wanted to make a sweet and entertaining film, and take the risk of introducing a new type into cinema.” Al-Masryah… We have always been distinguished in comedy, and this is true, but we also feel that the market is ready to receive different styles that are not based only on comedy, styles that contain suspense and social reading at the same time.
The director explained that the bet in the film was to present a different presentation to the audience, combining entertainment and content at the same time.
El-Shenawy spoke: Regarding his philosophy in dealing with new experiences, he said: “I have been saying the phrase (let us fail) seriously for a long time. I said it before in (Al-Harsha Al-Sabea) and (Lam Shamsia)… I do not mean for us to fail, but I mean not to be afraid, and our whole goal is not to repeat experiences in which we succeeded before.. If we work while we are afraid, we will not try or present anything new, and at that time people will continue to say that we repeat “Ourself.”
He added that the film represented a real adventure for him and the work team, explaining that they were aware from the beginning that the experience was completely different from what prevailed in the Egyptian market. He said: “We knew that the film was very new, and that there was no gray area in it. People would love it strongly or they would not accept it at all… because there is an audience that loves to see something new, and there are other people who want to see what they are accustomed to.” “It is.”
Director Karim El-Shenawy concluded his speech by stressing that the experience in itself was enjoyable and full of passion, and added: “The nice thing is that we made the film and we were happy… In the end, it will not be beneficial for the audience to enjoy while we are not happy.”
