Alba expands its cooperation with Ari Innovation to include advanced data modeling and artificial intelligence

Aluminum Bahrain B.S.C. announced (Alba), the world’s largest single-site aluminum smelter, announced the expansion of its partnership with ARRI Innovation, a Bahrain-based leader in artificial intelligence and cloud digital solutions, to launch a new technology project focused on advanced data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence in the company’s melting lines.

This collaboration was announced during the Gulf Gateway Forum 2025 in the Kingdom of Bahrain, combining Alba’s operational expertise with the competence of the quantitative development team at Ari Innovation to provide advanced AI-powered tools that support decision-making for Alba’s expert operators.

The project is scheduled to work on modeling and applying artificial intelligence techniques to improve the basic reactions in the aluminum smelting process, including increasing the efficiency of energy use, reaching the optimal temperature of the electrolyte mixture (BATH), and extending the life of the smelting cells.

These solutions are expected to contribute to reducing costs, reducing maintenance downtime, enhancing product quality, increasing process efficiency, and improving employee safety, which is a top priority at Alba.

Commenting on this cooperation, Khalid Al Rumaihi, Chairman of Alba’s Board of Directors, said: “This new phase of cooperation with Ari Innovation represents an advanced step in Alba’s digital transformation journey.

By integrating advanced data modeling and artificial intelligence technologies into our operations, we provide our teams with powerful tools that enable them to make smarter, safer and more efficient decisions.

“In addition to enhancing the flexibility of our operations and our safety standards, this project places Alba at the forefront of technical innovation in the aluminum industry.”

For his part, Arai Innovation Co-Founder and CEO, Alaa Saeed, said: “The expansion of our cooperation with Alba represents a pioneering step that combines advanced data science techniques, machine learning and our latest artificial intelligence tools, to create a qualitative shift in the company’s melting lines.

We are grateful to Alba for trusting in the solutions we previously provided, and for giving our Quantitative Development and R&D teams responsibility for this huge project.

“This collaboration between Alba and Ari will yield valuable insights into the fundamental processes and interactions within melting cells, which will contribute to enhanced efficiency and safety.”

It is worth noting that Alba has always been a leader in industrial innovation, and this new project is part of its commitment to lead the aluminum sector towards adopting artificial intelligence technologies in high-impact areas, while ensuring responsible application and security through expert partners such as Ari Innovation, as every technical solution developed within the framework of this cooperation is an essential part of Alba’s digital transformation initiatives.
