Dubai Chambers forms an executive committee to accelerate the adoption of assistive artificial intelligence in the private sector
Dubai, June 4, 2017 – Dubai Chambers announced the formation of the Executive Committee for Assistive Artificial Intelligence, with the aim of accelerating the adoption of assistive artificial intelligence technologies in the private sector, enhancing the readiness of the business community to keep pace with global technological transformations, and consolidating Dubai’s position as a global center for the digital economy and industry of the future.
This comes in implementation of the strategic initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, to support the shift towards assistive artificial intelligence (Agentic AI) in the private sector in the Emirate of Dubai.
According to a press release issued today, the committee held its first meeting virtually, headed by His Excellency Engineer Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Chambers and Chairman of the Executive Committee, and in the presence of His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Chamber for the Digital Economy, and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee.
His Excellency Engineer Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri stressed his commitment to implementing the directives of the wise leadership aimed at consolidating Dubai’s global leadership, enhancing the competitiveness of the private sector and raising its readiness to keep pace with the rapid technological transformations.
He added that the transformation program towards assistive artificial intelligence embodies Dubai’s proactive vision in adopting modern technologies and employing them to build a more flexible, sustainable and innovative economy, and represents a qualitative milestone in the process of developing the business environment in the emirate, by enabling companies to benefit from advanced smart solutions and develop their operational and administrative capabilities, in a way that enhances their productivity and opens up broader horizons for growth and expansion in future economic sectors.
He explained that the committee is working on preparing an integrated implementation system for the program, including mechanisms for specialized training tracks for business councils and groups affiliated with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, in addition to developing supportive incubators for companies specialized in assistive artificial intelligence solutions, and enhancing cooperation with partners from the government and private sectors to provide the necessary capabilities to accelerate digital transformation in various economic sectors and within the business community in the emirate.
For his part, His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama affirmed that Dubai, with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” continues to consolidate its position as a global center for creating the future by adopting transformative technologies to enhance the competitiveness of vital sectors, and focusing on a new system that adopts assistive artificial intelligence, as an extension of a proactive approach that aims to reshape government work models to keep pace with global developments and anticipate future changes.
He said that this transformation represents a qualitative step towards building an advanced digital economic system based on knowledge and technology, and provides a smart stimulating environment capable of raising efficiency, accelerating innovation and developing advanced artificial intelligence solutions and more flexible and sustainable operating models, which contribute to enhancing the readiness of the private sector to benefit from future applications, supporting the growth of emerging companies, and consolidating Dubai’s position as a global platform for developing and exporting future digital technologies and solutions.
The committee is responsible for approving training career paths specialized in assistive artificial intelligence, designing and establishing incubators for assistive artificial intelligence companies that support transformation in Dubai, and supporting the development of companies specialized in developing and using assistive artificial intelligence solutions, disseminating knowledge, and building institutional capabilities within the Dubai Chambers system, in a way that enhances the competitiveness of the private sector and consolidates Dubai’s leadership in adopting future technologies.
