Stores anticipate “White Friday” and offer discounts of up to 75%

Many commercial stores with branches in various emirates of the country have launched early discount campaigns with rates ranging between 25 and 75% in anticipation of the “White Friday” sales that are launched on the last Friday of this November.
Consumers explained that the discounts, which bore names such as “Yellow Wednesday,” included various goods, most notably clothing, bags, shoes, electronics, phones, perfumes, furniture, decorative supplies, cosmetics, and others.
They noted that the bulk of the discounts focused on old models and “models” of some goods, and the clothing discounts focused on old summer “models” while ignoring the discounts on winter clothing, despite the approaching winter season.
They demanded that new “models” be included in the discounts on various goods and winter clothing for adults and children, especially since new models of various goods are at high prices and constitute a burden on large families in particular.
On the other hand, two store officials said that early sales allow consumers to obtain their needs at lower prices over a longer period of time, and have also contributed to increasing sales by up to 30%, explaining that the coming period will include more diverse sales, including winter clothes and new models.
They explained that the imminence of electronic platforms offering early discounts before “White Friday” motivated stores to start early discounts, in the context of intense competition between stores and electronic platforms.

In detail, the consumer, Safaa Al-Muqaddam, said that “commercial stores with branches in various emirates of the country launched early discount campaigns with rates ranging between 25 and 75% in anticipation of the (White Friday) sales that begin in the last week of this month, and the early discounts mainly included clothing, shoes and bags.”
She explained that the majority of the discounts focused on old models and summer clothes, while ignoring new models and winter clothes, demanding that new models and winter clothes be included in the discounts for adults and children, especially since new models and winter clothes are expensive, which constitutes a burden on families as winter approaches.

The consumer, Mahdi Al-Sadiq, said, “Commercial stores launched early discount campaigns, with rates mostly ranging between 20 and 50% in anticipation of the (White Friday) sales that begin in the last week of this month, and included electronics, electrical appliances, and phones, in addition to clothing.”
He stressed the importance of the discounts because they allow consumers to obtain their needs at reasonable prices. However, he explained that the discounts were mostly focused on old models that do not witness high demand, while most stores neglected to offer discounts on modern models that need discounts on them, calling for new models to be included, and discount rates to be increased on some other models to reduce the burden on consumers.
Consumer Wissam Mahmoud considered that starting discounts early under different names, such as “White Wednesday” and “Yellow Wednesday,” is beneficial for consumers to obtain their needs at reasonable prices, noting that the discounts in most of them range between 20 and 60%.
He explained that the discounts included several goods, most notably clothing, household appliances, furniture, decorative supplies, and electronics, demanding that new models be included in the discounts, especially since their prices are exaggeratedly high, noting that most of the discounts are on old models that have been displayed in stores for many months.

For his part, the responsible manager of one of the stores, Irfan Ismail, said, “The early discounts offered by stores with branches in various emirates of the country allow consumers to obtain their needs at lower prices over a longer period of time,” adding that the discounts are characterized by great diversity and include different and diverse goods that meet the needs of different family members. He expected that advanced stages of the sales would include some new models and winter clothes for family members, noting an increase in sales of more than 20%, depending on the store and item during the sales.
For his part, the sales official in one of the major commercial stores, Hashim Masoud, said, “The stores are witnessing a significant increase in sales exceeding 30%, coinciding with the start of early sales,” indicating that competition is always in the interest of consumers, and makes stores offer the best goods and products at large discounts to attract consumers.
He explained that the imminent start of early discounts on electronic platforms motivated stores to start discounts, in the context of intense competition between stores and each other, and between stores and electronic platforms.
