The UAE participates in the 21st International LNG Conference and Exhibition in Qatar

Doha, February 3, 2017 – His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, headed the country’s delegation participating in the 21st International Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Conference and Exhibition, which kicked off yesterday in the Qatari capital, Doha, and continues until February 5, with wide participation from senior government officials, leaders of global energy companies, experts and decision-makers, to discuss the future of LNG and its pivotal role in global energy security and the transition towards more sustainable energy systems.
The conference discusses a number of pivotal issues, including opportunities for employing artificial intelligence in the energy sector, the importance of continued investment and innovation, in addition to the vital role of natural gas in supporting human development, especially in developing countries.
The UAE’s participation confirms its commitment to supporting international dialogue on the future of energy, enhancing cooperation and strategic partnerships, in addition to exchanging experiences and best practices in the liquefied natural gas sector, which contributes to achieving a balance between energy security requirements and sustainability and development goals.
On the sidelines of the conference, His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei and his accompanying delegation met with His Excellency Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs of the sisterly State of Qatar, where ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy were discussed, and views were exchanged on regional and international developments of common interest.
His Excellency and the accompanying delegation then visited the pavilions of the exhibition accompanying the conference, and were briefed on the latest technologies and innovative solutions presented by a group of participating Qatari and international companies, and listened to explanations about the latest projects and initiatives in support of energy security and sustainability.
