9 people were killed in violent storms and an avalanche in the Himalayas

9 people, including 5 Italian climbers, died as a result of Violent snow storms and avalanches in Climbing trips, on the 5,630-meter-high Yalong Ri peak in eastern Nepal, killing seven of them.
Phurba Tenjing Sherpa from the agency organizing the trips said that the victims were three Italians, a German, a Frenchman and two Nepalese, and continued: "I saw all seven bodies and their recovery operations underway Tuesday"
Highest mountain peaks
Gian Kumar Mahato, a police official in the Dolakha region, indicated that two Frenchmen, two Nepalese, and a fifth person had been rescued on Tuesday morning.
The nationality of the fifth climber was not determined, and another accident claimed the lives of two people in western Nepal with whom contact had been lost since Friday.
The Italian Foreign Ministry reported, in a statement, that the two Italian climbers, Stefano Varunato and Alessandro Caputo died after being trapped by heavy snow while climbing Mount Banbari.
Nepal, which has eight of the highest mountain peaks in the world, hosts hundreds of climbers annually during the spring and fall seasons, which are dangerous due to the cold and snow.
