"Global health" Launches a continental plan to combat the Ebola outbreak
Launched WHO and the Africa Center for Disease Control have jointly developed continental plans for virus outbreak preparedness and response "Ebola" Of the Bundibugyo strain, it aims to mobilize $518 million from June to November 2026.
The plan aims to support African countries in early detection of the disease and rapid response to it, by strengthening epidemiological monitoring, laboratory tests, health care and cross-border cooperation, caring for groups most at risk, and strengthening health systems in the face of current and future threats.
The two organizations stressed that containing the outbreak requires broad regional coordination and political commitment. and sustainable financing, to ensure the protection of affected and at-risk communities.
