A trade forum and communication session at the Chamber to promote investments with Thailand

“Chamber”: $384 million in trade exchange between the two countries
The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a Thai trade delegation headed by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Bahrain, Sumati Chaulagata, where a dialogue session and forum was held to showcase Thai products to discuss investment cooperation between the two countries, yesterday, at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Bahrain Bay.
The Thai Ambassador stressed the strength of bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Thailand, noting that Bahrain’s strategic location, ease of doing business, and cultural openness make it an ideal center for Thai companies wishing to enter the Gulf markets.
He pointed out that this is the third Thai business delegation to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain during the year 2025, which reflects his personal commitment to attracting the attention of Thai entrepreneurs to Bahrain as a strategic gateway to the markets of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
For his part, the Financial Secretary of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Arif Hagras, stressed the importance of the visit in strengthening trade relations between Bahrain and Thailand. He noted that there are great opportunities that can be created through cooperation between different sectors, especially in the fields of real estate and hospitality.
He continued: “I believe in the importance of establishing a specialized Thai hospital in Bahrain, as the Thais are known for the quality of their medical services and their reasonable prices. I also see the need to explore opportunities for cooperation in the fields of agriculture and trade.”
For his part, the Second Vice President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohammed Al Kooheji, indicated that the volume of trade exchange between Bahrain and Thailand has reached $384 million, with a noticeable increase of 14% this year, which reflects the depth of trade relations between the two countries.
He continued: “We concluded three important agreements in several different fields, which is a big step towards enhancing cooperation between the two sides, and this conference represents a strong platform for discussing important areas such as the health sector, medicines, and building materials.”
As for Deputy Financial Secretary and Head of the Coordinating Group of Sectoral Committees at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Walid Kanoo, he said: “This forum, which brings us together with many Thai companies, and the presence of this large number of companies reflects the importance of trade cooperation between Bahrain and Thailand. We are here to see how we can collaborate with local merchants. We look forward to the coming days full of success and fruitful cooperation.”
