“ADIPEC Technology 2025” is the largest global platform for oil and gas innovations and energy transformation

Abu Dhabi, 5 November / WAM / Haitham Al Junaibi, Head of the Technical Program for the ADIPEC 2025 Exhibition and Conference, confirmed that ADIPEC represents the largest global event in the oil and gas sector and energy transformation, noting that this year’s session witnesses unprecedented quality participation at the level of scientific research and modern technologies.
Al-Junaibi said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the ADIPEC 2025 activities, that “ADIPEC Technology” attracted more than a thousand companies and 370 members of technical teams who presented more than 6,000 research papers that dealt with various fields of the oil and gas industry, including digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and emission reduction technologies, which reflects the global trend towards developing innovative solutions that support the sector’s sustainability and keep pace with the rapid transformations in the field of energy.
He added that this year’s edition witnessed the submission of abstracts and scientific papers from more than 1,100 companies from 93 countries, exceeding the volume of participation recorded in 2024, which strengthens ADIPEC’s position as a comprehensive global platform for the energy system.
He pointed out that entries related to artificial intelligence and digital technologies increased by 26%, constituting about 20% of the total entries (1,294 applications), in a clear indication of the transformative role of modern technologies in the global energy scene.
He explained that the conference this year focused on transforming innovation into tangible impact, as three main axes emerged among the most prominent topics presented: operational excellence (16%), well drilling and preparation services (14%), and carbon neutrality and sustainability (12%).
Five sub-topics also topped the list of entries in this field, including the future of artificial intelligence and digital transformation (13%), digital transformation in the refining and advanced manufacturing sector (10%), the Internet of Things (10%), digital twins (10%), and enhancing productivity (9%).
Al-Junaibi pointed out that contributions coming from the African continent recorded a remarkable increase of nearly 300% compared to 2024, while the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions maintained their lead in terms of the number of research papers and abstracts submitted, at 48% and 25% of the total, respectively.
The ADIPEC Technical Conference, organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers, recorded a new record in the number of participations, amounting to 6,286 research papers, while the number of papers in the “Refining and Processing Technologies Conference” reached 782 papers, an increase of 5% and 19.2%, respectively, compared to last year, bringing the total increase in participation to 7% for both conferences together.
