Bodour Al Qasimi honors the winners of the Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 awards

Sharjah, 6 November / WAM / Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Book Authority, honored the award winners of the 44th session of the Sharjah International Book Fair, in the presence of His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority, during a special ceremony held within the activities of the exhibition organized by the Authority at the Sharjah Expo Center under the slogan “Between You and the Book” and which continues until November 16.

This year’s exhibition awards witnessed an increase in the number of entries, reaching 2,076 entries, including 184 entries by Emirati writers, 1,339 entries by Arab writers, and 454 entries from foreign writers, in addition to 99 entries for the Tarjuman Award.

Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi honored the winners of the “Best Emirati Book” award for the year 2025, where the writer Nadia Al Najjar won in the “Novel Category” for her work “The Feel of Light” published by Mediterranean Publications, while the Trends Center for Research and Consulting won the award in the “Studies Category” for the book “The Age of Pearls… from Poverty to Prosperity: The Journey of the United Arab Emirates… from the Pre-Pearl Age to the Post-Oil World.” The award was received by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Mohammed Salem Al Ali, CEO. In the “Literary Creativity Category” (Theatrical Texts), Dr. Abdul Hakim Al-Zubaidi won for his book “Nights of Cordoba,” published by the Arab Theater Authority, while writer Asmaa Al-Hamli won the “First Novel Category” award for her novel “The Sand Tribe,” published by Dar Boumelha for Publishing and Distribution.

As for the “Best Arabic Book” award for the year 2025, it was won by the writer Abdelaziz Ait Bensalah for his novel “The House of Life,” published by Maskiliani Publishing and Distribution House.

In the foreign categories, writer Siphiwe Gloria Ndlovu won the award for Best Foreign Fiction Book of 2025 for her work The Creation of Half-Broken People, published by Picador Africa, and Aoife Lennon-Ritchie received the award on her behalf. Writer Sunita Krish Nunn also won the Award for Best Foreign Fiction Book of 2025 for her book I Am What I Am, published by Westland Books.

In the awards allocated to publishing houses, Nabati Publishing House won the “Best Local Publishing House” award for the year 2025, and the award was received by Muhammad Abdullah Nour al-Din, the director of the house. The National Publishing and Distribution House – Jordan won the “Best Arab Publishing House” award for the year 2025, and the award was received by Ahmed Sufyan Abu Touq, the director of the house.
