Oman Post participates in the Sharjah Book Fair
Sharjah, 7 November / WAM / Oman Post is participating in stamps and collectibles for the first time in the activities of the Sharjah International Book Fair 2025, with the aim of highlighting the Omani identity and sending messages to society, including that the postal stamp still enjoys the interest of a large segment of society, which is keen to acquire unique and historical stamps that document the stages of development of countries in general.
Mohsen Al-Wahaibi from Oman Post Stamps and Collectibles said in statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the Oman Post stand at the Sharjah International Book Fair includes a collection of distinguished stamps, the most important of which is the stamp on the founding of the Al-Busaid State in the year 280 and the stamp with precious stones that was issued for a limited period, in addition to displaying the most important issues of books that talk about Omani history, culture, and tourism, and a number of coins throughout the ages.
Al Wahaibi expressed his admiration for the level of the Sharjah International Book Fair and the ancient and international publishing houses it includes, noting that the Omani platform was very popular with visitors to the exhibition to learn about Omani Post, stamps and Omani collectibles. He pointed out that stamps are still used in the Sultanate of Oman, especially in postal correspondence, in addition to the presence of a large number of stamp collectors who are keen to visit specialized exhibitions around the world to acquire rare and important stamps.
