Dubai Electricity and Water urges customers to prepare for the rainy period with preventive measures

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority urged customers to take the necessary preventive measures to ensure the continuity of electrical current and avoid internal malfunctions during the rainy period, stressing that adherence to the instructions contributes to avoiding malfunctions resulting from water leakage into extensions or electrical panels.
This awareness campaign comes as part of the Authority’s efforts to establish the highest standards of efficiency and reliability in its services and enhance customer safety and preparedness for various weather fluctuations.
The authority stressed the importance of hiring a certified electrician to conduct regular maintenance and preventive checks and ensure that all external connections and meter panels are waterproof and safely insulated to limit interruptions or electrical short circuits.
The recommendations announced by the Authority include tightly closing distribution panels, replacing broken glass in meters, blocking openings in electrical connection pipes on roofs to prevent water leakage, and checking grounding cables regularly to ensure the safe and continuous flow of electrical current.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority also called on customers to take advantage of the “Smart Response” service through the authority’s smart application or website to diagnose the cause of the outage. If the cause is internal, the customer must contact the maintenance team in the building or one of the approved technicians to repair the malfunction. If it turns out that the malfunction is external and related to the Authority, the customer will contact the emergency number 991, and a technical team will be sent to repair the malfunction according to the highest levels of efficiency and speed.
The Authority urges all customers to follow its official accounts on social media to learn about the instructions for the rainy period, which include a set of tips and preventive measures to maintain the stability of the electrical current and avoid internal malfunctions.
