$185 billion in value of Korea’s exports during the third quarter

SEOUL, November 10, 2017 (WAM) – The Republic of Korea’s exports recorded their highest level ever during the third quarter of this year, thanks to strong shipments of semiconductors, according to data issued today by the Korean Ministry of Data and Statistics.

The Korean Yonhap News Agency reported that the value of Korea’s exports during the period from July to September amounted to 185 billion US dollars, an increase of 6.5% compared to the same period last year, according to the ministry’s data. This represents the largest quarterly figure for exports since the ministry began collecting relevant data in 2010.

Exports recorded an increase on an annual basis for the second quarter in a row, after recording an increase of 2.1% on an annual basis during the second quarter.
