The day of the biggest sales… Where did the story of Black and White Friday come from?

As for Black Friday in the West, it is an annual tradition that takes place on the day following American Thanksgiving, when large numbers of shoppers head to stores since the dawn hours to obtain major discounts.
There have been many stories about why this day is called "Black Friday". The most widespread narrative indicates that stores were experiencing losses during the year (selling in red), and then turned to making profits on that day (selling in black).
But there are other narratives, including an incorrect narrative that claims the term is linked to the sale of slaves in the nineteenth century.
The narrative that is closest to documentation
While the narrative that is closest to documentation dates back to the 1950s in the city of Philadelphia, when the police used the term "Black Friday" To describe the chaos and severe crowding that occurred in the city streets before the annual American football match, and the thefts and traffic disruption that accompanied it.
In the 1980s, merchants succeeded in transforming the negative image of the term into a positive aspect that symbolizes high sales and achieving profits, and from there the tradition spread to Europe and then to the rest of the world.
