"Dubai Rowing Challenge 2025 " It attracts more than 5,000 participants

Dubai, November 10 / WAM / Over the weekend, Hatta Dam attracted a record participation of more than 5,000 participants in the “Dubai Rowing Challenge 2025” event, sponsored by the Roads and Transport Authority, over two days, in a unique experience that combined fitness and adventure amidst the picturesque landscapes of the Hajar Mountains.

From sunrise to sunset, the calm waters were filled with paddleboards and kayaks in the third session of the second main event within the Dubai Fitness Challenge 2025, returning this year with a larger and more diverse version, as participants enjoyed the experience of paddling amid panoramic views of the towering rocky peaks, exploring new ways to connect with nature and achieve their goals within the 30 x 30 Challenge, reflecting this year’s slogan “Find your challenge.”

The extension of the event to two days received wide response from the participants, as many visitors chose to turn the experience into a complete weekend in Hatta, combining rafting and hiking adventures through the mountains, turning the event into a distinctive family destination that combines activity and relaxation.

His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, said that the Dubai Rowing Challenge event witnessed a wide turnout this year, and its extension to two days gave more participants the opportunity to engage in this unique experience that combines fitness, nature and community activity. The Hatta Dam continues to consolidate its position as one of the most prominent natural destinations in the UAE, and reflects our commitment to providing outdoor sports experiences that allow everyone to practice physical activity in a lively atmosphere.

For his part, Ahmed Al Khaja, Executive Director of the Dubai Festivals and Retail Corporation, said that the Dubai Rowing Challenge, sponsored by the Roads and Transport Authority, embodies the true meaning of turning fitness into an inspiring experience when connected to nature. An integrated experience was presented at Hatta Dam over the weekend, which went beyond the concept of exercising to bring families and friends together in a distinctive social atmosphere in the middle of one of the most beautiful natural destinations in Dubai. Extending the event to two days allowed for wider participation, while the great interaction we witnessed confirms the importance of these outdoor activities in promoting… Community cohesion and encouraging the adoption of a healthy and active lifestyle.

The event included free training sessions in rowing for all ages and levels, where the organizers provided comprehensive guidance on safety procedures, and participants were provided with all the necessary equipment, including boards, paddles and life jackets, to ensure an integrated and safe experience suitable for beginners and professionals alike.

In addition to the canoeing sessions, participants enjoyed free kayaking experiences throughout the weekend, and as the sun set against the backdrop of the Hajar Mountains, the atmosphere turned into moments of calm and tranquility with 30-minute yoga sessions on the surface of the water led by professional trainers, providing participants with an ideal opportunity to relax and meditate, in a harmonious blend that combines physical activity and mental serenity amidst the stunning mountain scenery of Hatta.

The Dubai Fitness Challenge 2025 continues to build on the momentum achieved by the two inaugural events, in preparation for the upcoming stations, as the Dubai Running Challenge, sponsored by Mai Dubai, returns on November 23 on Sheikh Zayed Road, where it is expected to witness the participation of hundreds of thousands in the largest free community running race in the world, while the month’s activities will conclude with the first-ever “Dubai Yoga” event on November 30 at Zabeel Park, bringing together thousands in a collective experience that reflects mental and physical balance.

In addition to these main events, three free 30×30 Fitness Villages, 30 community physical activity centers, as well as thousands of daily sessions and activities spread across the city, continue to provide diverse experiences that allow everyone the opportunity to participate and achieve their goals within the 30×30 Challenge.

The Dubai Rowing Challenge is organized by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and the Dubai Sports Council, sponsored by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, and with the support of the official partners: Decathlon, Hatta Kayak, and Mai Dubai, along with government partners: Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police, Ministry of Education, and the Event Insurance Committee.
