National Bank of Umm Al Quwain wins an award "Compete" For the year 2024–2025

Umm Al Quwain, 11 November / WAM / The National Bank of Umm Al Quwain won the Emirates Competitiveness Council “NAFES” award in its third session for the year 2024-2025, in the small enterprises category, in recognition of its distinguished efforts in raising Emiratisation rates, empowering national competencies, and enhancing its role in supporting the process of economic diversification and sustainable development in the UAE.
The bank continues to play a leading and pivotal role in developing national competencies within the banking and financial sector in the country, through nationalization programs and specialized training initiatives that establish a work culture based on innovation and inclusiveness, thus enhancing the readiness of national cadres and qualifying them for leadership in various areas of banking work.
This award reflects National Bank of Umm Al Quwain’s commitment to the directives of the wise leadership aimed at enhancing the participation of Emirati citizens in the private sector, by providing sustainable career paths that contribute to developing national capabilities in the long term.
Adnan Al Awadhi, CEO of the National Bank of Umm Al Quwain, said that the award embodies raising the standards of excellence and supporting the strategic goals of the UAE, and that this honor reflects the commitment of the Bank of Umm Al Quwain to invest in national competencies, which is a fundamental pillar of the bank’s strength and sustainable growth, indicating that the bank will continue to enhance the work environment to be an incubator for learning, innovation and leadership.
Al-Awadhi stressed that the bank, since its establishment, paid strategic attention to the Emirati human element, and made Emiratisation and human development at the core of its vision. Efforts in this aspect culminated in the bank receiving several awards in recognition of its contributions in the areas of Emiratisation and social responsibility.
It is noteworthy that the Nafs Award provides appreciation to Emirati institutions and individuals who contribute effectively to achieving national Emiratization goals, and consolidating the concepts of excellence in developing national competencies, in support of the process of economic diversification and the UAE Vision 2031.
The Nafs programme, which was launched as part of the 50 projects in 2021, embodies an ambitious vision to enhance the participation of national cadres in the private sector, through qualitative initiatives that provide sustainable training and professional opportunities that contribute to empowering Emirati competencies and supporting the country’s journey towards leadership and innovation.
