ICOM Dubai 2025 is a launching pad for global visions anticipating the future of museums

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, said in a tweet on his official account on the “X” platform: “Today I witnessed the opening of the twenty-seventh General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM Dubai 2025), in its first session in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region, with the participation of more than 4,500 museum experts and cultural and intellectual leaders from around the world.

His Highness added: “On the sidelines of the opening, I visited the exhibition accompanying the conference, in which more than 100 exhibitors participate… We wish success to the participants in ICOM Dubai, and we look forward to this edition representing a launching pad for new global visions that anticipate the future of museums, preserve global heritage, involve younger generations, and employ the latest technologies. We invite all our guests to discover the museums of the past and future in Dubai, and learn about their creative initiatives and inspiring stories.”
