The Emirates International Orthopedic Congress kicks off tomorrow in Dubai

Dubai, November 13 / WAM / The Emirates Orthopedic Division of the Emirates Medical Association is organizing tomorrow, Friday, the activities of the 13th Emirates International Orthopedic Conference, in conjunction with the first Gulf session of knee surgery that will be launched by the association, and will host doctors and consultants specializing in artificial knee operations, the use of surgical robots, fractures and arthroscopy, and sports injuries.
The first Gulf Knee Surgery Course aims to strengthen ties and relations between doctors specialized in this field, with the aim of creating a scientific platform for the future of medical research in the region, as the course will be held every two years in a Gulf country, in line with the keenness of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to enhance health care and support medical tourism in various countries of the region.
Dr. Ali Al Balushi, President of the Emirates Orthopedic Association and Chairman of the Conference, said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) today, that this medical event, which lasts for three days at the InterContinental Festival City Hotel, aims to highlight the image of the UAE regionally and globally as a medical treatment center, establish the principle of interest in developing medical personnel, and create an incubating environment for experts and specialists.
He added that the number of doctors registered in the conference reached more than 800 consultants, doctors, specialists, nurses, and technicians from the UAE, the Middle East, and various countries of the world.
He explained that the main topics that the conference will cover this year include knee operations of all types, including fractures and sports injuries, partial, total and secondary prosthetic knee operations, and procedures in operations in a parallel path with the treatment of diseases of the shoulder, spine, ankle and foot.
He pointed out that the conference will highlight the most prominent developments in sports injury surgery and knee arthroplasty, and during which 6 workshops will be organized, at a rate of two per day, on various topics aimed at developing and refining the participants’ scientific and practical expertise.
Dr. Al Balushi stated that the exhibition accompanying the conference, which is organized by Info Plus, will be attended by 25 international companies, including the most famous companies that manufacture chips, stents, external fixators, medical devices dealing with bone diseases, and pharmaceutical companies.
