Strategic partnership between "Dubai CommerCity" and"Vitex" To promote digital trade in the region

DUBAI, 13th November, 2017 (WAM) – Dubai CommerCity, the free zone specialized in digital trade and affiliated with the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIZ), announced the conclusion of a strategic partnership with Vitex, a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, with the aim of supporting the e-commerce system in the country and the Gulf region, and enabling companies to adopt the latest trade solutions based on digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
The partnership aims to enhance the growth of the digital commerce sector by providing modern platforms that meet the requirements of brands, retail companies and emerging companies, which contributes to accelerating access to regional and global markets, and supporting the rapid transformations of the digital economy in the country.
The agreement was signed by Amna Lootah, General Manager of Dubai CommerCity, and Santiago Naranjo, Chief Revenue Officer at Vitex, in the presence of a number of officials.
This step comes in light of the growth of digital trade in the Emirates, as the value of the digital economy reached about 32.3 billion dirhams in 2024, with expectations to exceed 50.6 billion dirhams by 2029, in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for the Digital Economy and supporting Dubai’s position as a global center for technology and innovation.
The agreement signing ceremony witnessed the opening of Vitex’s first regional center in the Middle East within Dubai CommerCity, to benefit from its advanced infrastructure and integrated digital system, thus enhancing the operational efficiency of companies and allowing faster access to markets.
The center aims to enable companies to adopt smart commerce solutions and expand the scope of technology use in accordance with international best practices.
Amna Lootah stressed that the partnership reflects Dubai CommerCity’s role in supporting Dubai’s “D33” economic agenda and enabling companies to grow and innovate within an advanced digital environment, thus enhancing the free zone’s position as a major driver of e-commerce.
For his part, Naranjo explained that Vitex’s presence in Dubai CommerCity represents a pillar for developing the future of trade in the Middle East, by providing advanced digital solutions supported by artificial intelligence and global experience spanning twenty-five years.
Dubai CommerCity will support the initiative through its Insights IQ smart platform based on artificial intelligence, integrated with the Vitex platform, to provide real-time analytics that help companies make data-based decisions, improve the efficiency of operations and develop growth opportunities.
