50 reading clubs are discussing “renewing the connection to the book” at the King Abdulaziz Library
The general supervisor opened The National Cultural Projectaimed at renewing the connection with books in society.
Consolidating culture and building awareness
He stated that the forum aims to bring together representatives of reading clubs from various regions of the Kingdom, for the purpose of exchanging expertise and field experiences, and forming fruitful relationships that contribute effectively to consolidating culture and building awareness.
The activities included an expanded dialogue session that discussed the mechanisms of “innovating reading events,” followed by an extensive review of the experience. The National Cultural Project.
The Reading Clubs Forum was also launched among the activities, which is based on the implementation of two specialized workshops, which shed light on “the experiences and challenges of reading clubs in the Kingdom” and ways to “form cultural partnerships.”
Encouraging Reading
The administration of the King Abdulaziz Public Library pointed out that these efforts enhance its pioneering role in encouraging reading, targeting in particular the activation of development among male and female students at various educational levels.
It affirmed its diligent endeavor to introduce the elements of reading and its new fields, as it is a basic pillar and an essential element of the cognitive development necessary to build the scientific, cultural and social future for various generations.
The activities of the cultural forum concluded with a speech delivered by the director of the National Cultural Project to Renew the Connection to Books at the King Abdulaziz Public Library, Dr. Fahd Al-Olayan, stressing the continuation of efforts to spread comprehensive cognitive awareness.
