Abu Dhabi, November 15 / WAM / The horse “RB King Maker” owned by Mohammed Ali Al Muzaini, under the supervision of Hilal and Tahnoun Al Alawi, and driven by Ray Dawson, won the title of the “33rd edition” of the preparatory race for the Cup of His Highness the President of the State for Purebred Arabian Horses “Qawaem”.
The event was held yesterday as part of the fourth evening at the Abu Dhabi Race Track, with 7 rounds for purebred Arabian and hybrid horses, with the participation of 94 horses, with a total prize pool of 511 thousand dirhams.
14 of the elite purebred Arabian horses, aged 4 years and above, competed in the preparatory race in preparation for the main race scheduled for next December 6.
“RB King Maker” won the second and main heat over a distance of 2,200 metres, with prizes of 111,000 dirhams, with a time of 2:25:54 minutes, 0.75 lengths ahead of runner-up “Ajrid Athba” from Yas Racing.
The mare “Manar” Lias Racing, under the supervision of Eric Lemartnell and led by Silvestre De Sousa, won the fourth round title for Arabian horses aged 4 years and above over a distance of 2200 meters, with the participation of 16 horses for the “Star of the Desert” title with prizes of 66 thousand dirhams, recording a time of 1:43:74 minutes.
“Single”, by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, under the supervision of Michael Costa, and led by Silvestre De Sousa, “Double”, led the sixth heat, for a distance of 1,600 metres, for purebred horses aged 3 years and above, with the participation of 12 horses competing for the title of “Thunder Hoof Mile”, with prizes of 66 thousand dirhams, with a time of 1:35:80 minutes.
The horse “Al-Ittihad”, owned by Sheikha Al-Yazia bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, under the supervision of Anthony Gammell, and driven by Sam Hitchcott, won the title of the first half, over a distance of 2,200 meters, for purebred Arabian horses, “Emirates Breed”, aged 4 years and above, “Takafu”, and its prizes were 66 thousand dirhams, with a time of 2:29:01 minutes.
The filly “Rawaa” by Ahmed Saeed Al Mazrouei, under the supervision of Ibrahim Al Hadhrami, and led by Abdul Aziz Al Balushi, achieved the lead in the third round, with the participation of 14 purebred Arabian horses aged 4 years and above, “Takafa”, for a distance of 1,200 metres, for the title of “Al Wathba Stallions” Cup for owners of private stables, with prizes of 70 thousand dirhams, recording 1:17:48 minutes.
The filly “Watira” was presented to Saeed and Rashid Al Shehhi, a “double”, for the trainer Ibrahim Al Hadhrami, and the jockey Ray Dawson, by winning first place in the fifth heat for a distance of 1200 metres, for the “Al-Ittihad Gold Mile” title, for Arabian horses aged 4 years and above, “Takafu”, and its financial prizes were 70 thousand dirhams, achieving 1:44:97 minutes.
The title of “The Mary Time Sprint” in the seventh round for the purebred hybrid horses “Takafa” for a distance of 1400 metres, went to “Mountbatten” by Muhammad Ali, under the supervision of Musabah Al Muhairi and led by Richard Mullen, and his prize money was 66 thousand dirhams, recording 1:22:63 minutes.
