Hamdan bin Mohammed inspects the Emirati-made “Caladus B-250” combat aircraft

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, affirmed that the UAE is moving forward with confidence in asserting its position as a global platform for developing advanced defense industries and solutions, based on a firm conviction that excellence in this field constitutes a basic foundation for protecting development gains and preserving the security of the nation and the integrity of its capabilities.

This came during His Highness’s inspection of the Emirati-made Caldus B-250 aircraft, during its participation in the 19th session of the Dubai Airshow, which began its activities yesterday, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, with widespread local, regional and international participation, within the largest session in the history of the event, with more than 1,500 exhibitors.

His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, listened to an explanation about the multi-use light aircraft, which was designed to carry out various combat missions, including close air support, surveillance and reconnaissance. It can fly for 12 continuous hours, and its design was taken into account to be suitable for use in pilot training operations.

His Highness praised the efforts of the Caldis Holding Group, which specializes in developing and manufacturing defense products and is based in Abu Dhabi, and the latest innovations, solutions and advanced defense systems it presents during the exhibition. His Highness praised the role of leading national institutions in strengthening the UAE’s position on the map of global defense industries. His Highness also stressed that investment in local defense industries is an investment in the future of the nation.
