New floods in Vietnam kill 8 people. Schools are closed and the coffee harvest is disrupted

The Vietnamese government said on Wednesday: "The new wave of Floodsand landslides in the center of the country since the beginning of the week led to the deaths of eight people, while seven others are still missing"
The amounts of rain exceeded 1,100 millimeters in some areas, which led to the submergence of entire villages and obstructed the coffee harvest in Dak Lak Province, where traders reported that only about 10 to 15 percent of the crop had been harvested, amid farmers’ need for sunlight to dry the beans.

The authorities evacuated hundreds of families overnight, while schools were closed in Gia Lai Province, affecting more than 26,000 students.
