Cooperation between "balance" and"Edge" and"General Atomics" To manufacture electronic brake control systems in the UAE

Dubai, November 19 / WAM / The Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council “Tawazun”, EDGE Group, and General Atomics Unmanned Aircraft Company, signed an agreement to manufacture electronic brake control units (eBCU) in the UAE.
This cooperation, announced during the third day of the Dubai Airshow 2025, comes through the Tawazun Economic Programme, the implementation of which is supervised by the Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council, and aims to create sustainable value for the national economy by enhancing innovation and sustainability in addition to facilitating cooperation between the various components of the sector, and ensuring that defense priorities are compatible with the country’s industrial and technological development goals.
Under the agreement, EBI and General Atomics Unmanned Aircraft will manufacture and maintain electronic brake control units, an advanced technology aimed at replacing traditional hydraulic braking systems in civil and defense applications.
Majid Saif Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Economic Tawazun Program at the Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council, said that the cooperation between EBI and General Atomics for unmanned aircraft, enabled by the Economic Tawazun “Offset” Program, represents a qualitative step towards enhancing local innovation in the aviation and space sector, as the program is working to develop and localize advanced technologies such as electronic brake control units, which raises the level of operational efficiency and supports the security and efficiency of air systems.
For his part, Michael Desch confirmed. Yaz. The CEO of EBI emphasized the role of this cooperation in strengthening efforts towards developing a locally integrated manufacturing system, increasing local content, and providing technical support and comprehensive after-sales services for this advanced smart system for basic brakes, explaining that cooperation constitutes an important step in advancing the aerospace industries sector in the UAE.
