Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation Project opens a facility "Team Aerospace"
Dubai, November 19, 2017 – The Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation Project in Dubai South, the area designated for developing the aviation sector in the emirate, today announced the official opening of the new advanced “Team Aerospace” facility, which is considered one of the largest aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul hangars in the Middle East.
The hangar was built according to the maximum permitted design dimensions, to accommodate up to 12 narrow-body aircraft or five wide-body aircraft of any type, with the exception of the Airbus A380.
The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Khalifa Al Zaffin, CEO of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, Tahnoun Saif, Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation Project, and Taimur Shah Shehab, founder of Team Aerospace, along with a number of senior executives from both sides, and representatives of the most prominent airlines, in a step that reflects the great support that this vital project enjoys from the international aviation sector.
The new facility will provide high-quality, cost-effective essential maintenance services for a wide range of commercial aircraft, both passenger and cargo, enhancing Team Aerospace’s growing presence in the global maintenance, repair and overhaul services market.
Tahnoun Saif stressed that the opening of the new facility strengthens Dubai’s position as a global aviation center and a preferred destination for leading companies in this sector, noting that the mission of the Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation Project is to build an integrated system that supports innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth across the various value chains of the aviation sector.
For his part, Taimur Shah Shehab said: This achievement represents a new stage in the expansion process of Team Aerospace in the region, as our facility in Dubai South was designed to be a model of leadership in efficiency, safety and reliability, and to keep pace with the increasing demand for maintenance, repair and renewal services in accordance with the highest international standards.
It is noteworthy that the Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation Project provides international companies in the field of aviation with investment opportunities, as it is a free zone for the world’s leading airlines, private aviation companies, aircraft maintenance, repair and renewal companies and related activities.
