The Foreign Minister discusses with his Angolan counterpart about common regional issues

Dr. conducted Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad, held a phone call on Wednesday, November 19, with Tite Antonio, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Angola, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations and exchange views on regional issues of common interest.

 

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdel Ati praised the growing momentum witnessed by Egyptian-Angolan relations, appreciating the keenness of both sides to continue strengthening relations. In various political, economic, commercial and investment fields between the two countries, he stressed the interest in enhancing trade exchange with Angola, and the Egyptian government’s encouragement of Egyptian businessmen and companies to enter the Angolan market strongly, and build on the existing partnerships between the two sides. 

Minister Abdel-Aty also stressed interest in examining opportunities for cooperation in infrastructure, energy and communications projects, reviewing the experiences of leading Egyptian companies in implementing major projects in a number of African countries.

He also praised The Minister of Foreign Affairs praised the active role played by the Angolan presidency of the African Union in leading joint continental action during a delicate stage in which the challenges of peace, security and development are growing, stressing the aspiration to continue close coordination with Angola within the framework of the African Union and regional and international organizations to advance African priorities, achieve the common interest, and continue exchanging support for the various nominations from both sides.

In a related context, the communication addressed the ongoing arrangements related to the African Summit – The European Union, scheduled to be held in Luanda on November 24 and 25, 2025, where the two sides stressed the importance of ensuring the success of the summit and reaching outcomes that serve the interests of the African continent and enhance its ability to deal with the current complex challenges, especially peace and security issues, confronting terrorism, and advancing sustainable and comprehensive development.
