Memorandum of understanding between "GE Aerospace" and"Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center for developing Emirati talent

Dubai, November 19 / WAM / GE Aerospace signed a memorandum of understanding with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, to enhance cooperation in the field of talent development and stimulate research and innovation activities in the space sector in the UAE.
This strategic partnership aims to support the country’s vision of achieving scientific and technological leadership, and to advance its capabilities in the fields of space exploration and environmental studies.
This cooperation combines the expertise and resources of the Middle East Technology Center in Dubai, affiliated with GE Aerospace, and the advanced capabilities of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center in the field of environmental monitoring by satellite.
The two parties will cooperate to implement initiatives that include developing Emirati talent through the GE Aerospace 24-month early career training programme, and exploring ways to cooperate in the field of research with the company’s leading research center in New York City, in addition to conducting studies related to the atmosphere, and exchanging best practices and experiences related to operational efficiency and innovation.
His Excellency Salem Humaid Al Marri, Director General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, said: Our cooperation with GE Aerospace reflects a practical commitment to building the capabilities required by our work. By combining resources and expertise, we provide opportunities that support technical growth, enhance our research efforts, and contribute to the development of emerging Emirati talent. This partnership also allows us to develop projects that benefit from the shared knowledge and complementary strengths of both sides, ensuring the feasibility, effectiveness and sustainability of the results.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center plays an active role in enhancing the country’s capabilities in the field of space exploration, and this is evident in its pioneering initiatives such as the Emirates Mars Exploration Project “Hope Probe” and the development of advanced satellite technologies.
Under this partnership, the two parties will cooperate in conducting pioneering research, including atmospheric studies, by taking advantage of satellite data provided by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center and the expertise of GE Aerospace.

Under the memorandum, GE Aerospace will provide the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center with training according to the Lean model that supports operational efficiency and establishes a culture of continuous improvement at the centre.
This initiative is in line with the UAE’s ambitions in the fields of innovation and sustainability, and supports the consolidation of its position at the forefront of technological developments in the global space sector.
