His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Engineer Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Fadhli, sponsors the sixth edition of the International Dates Conference and Exhibition under the slogan "The world of dates"Organized by the National Center for Palms and Dates, on the campus of King Saud University in Riyadh, during the period from November 25 to December 4, 2025 AD, with the participation of an elite group of local and international experts, specialists, and exhibitors. This year, the conference will be held in scientific partnership with KAUST, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, under the title: "Innovation for sustainability in the value chain of the palm and date sector"; To highlight the pivotal role of the sector in achieving sustainability and enhancing food security, through discussion panels and scientific sessions to discuss innovation in the sector and review the pioneering research and initiatives nominated for the National Palm and Dates Center Award, and to support the application of circular economy principles in the processes of growing and manufacturing dates. The conference addresses the challenges associated with palm pests and diseases, and sheds light on smart agriculture techniques and automation of post-harvest processes. With the aim of increasing production efficiency and improving quality. The exhibition is also a local and international platform that strengthens the Kingdom’s position as a major center for the production and export of dates globally. It is noteworthy that during the year 2024 AD, the Kingdom ranked first in date exports globally, with the value of its exports reaching 1.695 billion riyals, with a production volume exceeding 1.9 million tons in the same year. Saudi dates achieved a remarkable spread in global markets, as their exports reached 133 countries around the world.
