Expanding the presence of Saudi women

He explained that the Kingdom is working to build a more comprehensive industrial environment that responds to future requirements that empowers women and enhances their participation, noting that there are more than 100,000 women working in the Saudi industrial sector, within more than 12,000 licensed factories.
He pointed out that efforts are focused at the current stage on rehabilitating and expanding the capabilities of factories, And developing the industrial infrastructure to accommodate additional women’s capabilities, and coordination began with partners in the public and private sectors to rehabilitate and develop these facilities.
In addition to cooperating with local and international partners committed to supporting women’s empowerment and developing their skills.

Enhancing the competitiveness of national industry

Al-Ahmari stressed that empowering women in industry is not a separate initiative, but rather an essential pillar in the Kingdom’s long-term strategy to enhance the competitiveness of national industry, support innovation, and build a diversified and sustainable economy consistent with the goals of the vision. 2030.
He pointed out that integrating women into specific industrial roles contributes to enhancing the flexibility of the national economy, and opens new areas for industries based on technology, digitization, and clean manufacturing.

Enhancing international cooperation

The participants in the session called for strengthening international cooperation to remove structural obstacles to women’s participation, expand their access to finance, bridge the gap in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and design industrial policies that take into account women’s needs and prepare them for the green and digital transformations.
